Later this month, we will be celebrating the third anniversary of the official launch of the Digital Wellness Lab. As the date approaches, we’re reminded of what we set out to accomplish: creating an empathetic and respectful world in which our kids can grow up healthy, smart, and kind.
In the past year, we significantly increased our research capacity and further focused our topics of inquiry to dive even more deeply into the ways technology and media can impact young people’s mental, social, and emotional health. We also invested in ways to more quickly and effectively translate our findings into guidance for families, and recommendations for the tech and healthcare industries to make their products and services healthier and safer for young people. To learn more about our work last year, please check out our 2023 Impact Report
Together, we have the opportunity to catalyze a paradigm shift in how we — families, educators, policy-makers, tech and media companies, and young people themselves — approach digital wellness, and in doing so, we can create a brighter, healthier future for generations to come.
All our best to you and yours,
Cori Stott Executive Director The Digital Wellness Lab
What digital wellness skills and knowledge do young people need at each age and stage of development? What is the responsibility of us as adults to make the internet a healthier place?
To answer these important questions, the Lab, with support from Pinterest, convened more than 60 experts from across different disciplines — including technology, media, education, mental health, government/regulation, and advocacy — for the first of a series of Inspired Internet Pledge gatherings titled, “Tuning for Wellbeing.”
