Boston Ban on Violent Video Games?
The City of Boston is considering a measure to limit the sale of violent video games to minors. Many other states have
attempted this same legal action and have always been denied based on the Constitutional conflicts.
Dr. Michael Rich, Director of CMCH, was interviewed for a story
and podcast on this topic. “I think that this legislation is trying to do the right thing, but I’m not convinced that legislating and restricting it will be effective.” For Rich, education about the effect of violent video games on young children is the key to limiting sales and ultimately violence prevention.
