Following the footsteps of programs such as Sesame Street, Disney Channel’s new preschool programming will shift emphasis from teaching ABCs to imparting social values in their storytelling.
Disney is trying to use their powerful brand to promote this type of pro-social programming; however, CMCH Director, Dr. Michael Rich, argues that developing pro-social programs “it’s not as easy as playing up the brand.”
