With cell phone usage growing rapidly for children and teens, parents have a lot to consider when deciding whether their kids should have cell phones.

According to CMCH, market research by Yankee Group found that 54 percent of 8- to 12-year-olds will have a cell phone in the next three years. Parents should to be aware of the benefits and risks of cell phones, especially when deciding whether to purchase cell phones for their kids.
