Lauren Mendoza, LCSW is the Clinical Social Worker for the Clinic for Interactive Media and Internet Disorders (CIMAID). Lauren received a B.A. in Crime and Justice Studies with a minor in Leadership and Civic Engagement from UMASS Dartmouth and a Masters of Social Work with a specialization in Clinical Work with Children, Youth, and Families from Boston University. Prior to joining the CIMAID team, Lauren was working at My Life My Choice providing community based services to minors across the state who have been impacted by commercial sexual exploitation and human trafficking. Lauren also has a history of working as a family and individual therapist with children and adolescents in the community, within the education system through Boston Public Schools, in case management services for vulnerable youth populations at Action for Boston Community Development, and in emergency room psychiatry at Boston Medical Center.
Lauren joined the CIMAID team in August 2021, where she continues to pursue her passion of working to provide wrap-around support for children, youth, and families who are facing challenges and are in need. At CIMAID, Lauren works directly with Dr. Michael Rich and Dr. Michael Tsappis to provide direct patient care, collaborate with parents/guardians/caregivers, coordinate with existing care teams, and connect patients and their families with necessary resources and services to support their treatment.
