Digital Wellness Lab at Boston Children’s Hospital

Katrina is a Clinical Research Assistant at the Digital Wellness Lab, who is passionate about harnessing media’s potential to offer accessible and engaging mental health resources for youth, while equipping them with the media literacy skills essential for navigating today’s digital landscape. She holds a B.A. and M.A. in Child Study & Human Development from Tufts University, where she cultivated a strong interest in the intersection of interactive media, technology, and children’s mental health advocacy.

Katrina views children as active agents who should have a voice in shaping the decisions that affect their everyday lives, including how they engage with media. From a strengths-based perspective, she believes that mindful media design and thoughtful usage can support the healthy development of children. Her academic research and clinical work have deepened her understanding of how screens play a pivotal role in shaping children’s experiences.

Katrina is excited to contribute her expertise to the lab’s mission of fostering positive digital experiences for young people, advancing these efforts through research-driven, evidence-based interventions. She believes that quality media can not only destigmatize mental health issues but also make critical resources more accessible, ultimately enhancing youth well-being in the digital age.
