Misconceptions About Baby Videos

The Walt Disney Company has acknowledged that Baby Einstein videos does not teach anything nor does it promote better brain development in your infant.

CMCH Director, Dr. Michael Rich, argues that parents have bought infant videos hoping to give their infant a head start by building a brain like Einstein, however the research evidence collected by the CMCH Database of Research demonstrates that babies do not learn from infant videos.

Is TV Bad for Young Kids?

The Australian government just issued guidelines advising parents to prevent children under two from watching television. The Australian government’s advice shares the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics that children under two should not watch television.

CMCH Director, Dr. Michael Rich agrees that television watching doesn’t provide and may take away important developmental activities for children such as face-to-face interaction with parents or caretakers, learning to interact with or manipulate the physical world, and creative problem-solving play.
