Electronic Media and Children Under 2

A new report by Common Sense Media found that nearly half of children under age 1 watch nearly two hours a day of TV. This  falls under the the recommendation by the American Academy of Pediatrics to discourage electronic media exposure for children younger than age 2.

CMCH Director, Dr. Michael Rich, argues that “there is evidence that electronics displace another, richer developmental experience,” and  “it takes far longer for a child to learn how to put something on by video than learning in person.”
