Research Translation & Program Development Manager
Digital Wellness Lab at Boston Children’s Hospital

Nicole Powell is the Manager of Research Translation & Program Development at the Digital Wellness Lab at Boston Children’s Hospital, where she leads initiatives that bridge research, practice, and community impact to promote healthy digital development for children, adolescents, and families. Her work spans the continuum from research to real-world application through the design and execution of research, the development of evidence-informed interventions and programs, clinician training, and strategic partnerships. A primary focus of her work is advancing the understanding and prevention of Problematic Interactive Media Use (PIMU), serving as a key liaison between the Lab’s research and clinical initiatives to translate emerging evidence into screening tools, interventions, and practical resources for clinicians, educators, families, and communities. She also contributes to research examining the role of digital media and artificial intelligence in the lives of young people.

Grounded in training in social work and public health, Nicole brings a prevention-focused, developmental, and systems-oriented perspective to digital wellness. She is particularly interested in how digital environments both respond to and shape young people’s developmental needs– and how research can inform the design of healthier technologies, stronger relationships, and more supportive systems that help young people thrive. Her work is driven by a commitment to collaboration, equity, and translating evidence into meaningful, real-world impact.
