What’s Happening at the Lab

A webinar for Mass General Brigham’s The Parenting Series featuring the Digital Wellness Lab’s own Dr. Michael Rich. He’ll address the physical, social, and mental ways that online media can affect kids.

The Digital Wellness Lab’s Dr. Zhiying (Zoey) Yue will be giving a guest lecture on her recent research.

Dr. Zhiying (Zoey) Yue will be attending AERA 2026 in Los Angeles, connecting with a wide array of peers in educational research from around the world.

Folks from the Digital Wellness Lab will be joining their close colleagues at the Arnett Lab for lunch and conversation. Their work focuses on neurodevelopment among children. Maintaining close ties with others in our fields is fundamental to the collaboration necessary for solid academic research.

Lab Knowledge Manager Kaitlin Tiches will be taking part in this interactive dialogue among peers designed to help to understand how young people are engaging with AI and how we can work together to guide responsible pathways forward to support youth wellbeing.

Cori Stott will be attending the two-day CommonSense Media Summit in San Francisco, engaging with researchers, regulators, advocates, and technologists to address challenges of building a healthier and safer digital experience for youth. 

The Government of Iceland and Equimundo will hold this high level convening including the Lab’s Librarian, Kaitlin Tiches. Participants will discuss how to strengthen the environments that shape the lives of children, seeking sustainable change through both structural reform and cultural transformation.

Members of the Lab team – Nicole, Sam, Hannah, and Cori – will be leading an intensive week of workshops with students, families, and educators in grades 4-12 at the Singapore American School, focused on building strong digital balance and media literacy skills. 

Dr. Michael Rich will be meeting with the faculty and families of the Camperdown Academy to discuss the evidence-based guidance for digital balance and wellbeing from his The Mediatrician’s Guide.

The Lab will be well-represented at the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine annual meeting for 2026. Drs. David Bickham and Zhiying (Zoey) Yue will be joined by visiting grad student Simone D’Amico to take part, including presenting research posters at the event.

Our Student Advisory Council members will be joined by a panel of experts from Boston Children’s Hospital to discuss current topics and careers in mental health. Our experts include:

• Dr. Gino Mortillaro (Medical Director, Emergency Psychiatric Service)
• Dr. Erica Lee (Attending Psychologist, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences)
• Dr. Jason Fogler (Attending Psychologist, Division of Developmental Medicine)

Dr. Michael Rich will be delivering a series of presentations to parents and teachers at the school, based on his book, The Mediatrician’s Guide.

Cori Stott, the Lab’s Executive Director, will be attending this convening, titled Teens & Screens: Safety, Belonging, and Growing Up Online, focused on bringing together youth, parents, technologists, researchers, and policymakers to stake out the landscape and focus on actionable solutions that benefit young people.
